Comparison of Huawei MA5800 Series Control Cards

Huawei MA5800 series OLT includes MA5800 X2, MA5800 X7, MA5800 X15 and MA5800 X17, except for MA5800 X2, H901/902/903MPLA and H901/902MPLB. Control boards with different versions have different functions, but all control boards support the following functions:

• Control plane active/standby switchover
• Forwarding plane load balancing
• Local and remote maintenance via the management serial port (CON) or management Ethernet port (ETH)
• Environmental monitoring via the serial ESC

The MA5800-X2 supports the following MPUs: MPSC, MPSA, and MPSG.

The IPS is the main control unit board, the core for system control and service switching and aggregation. It also serves as the management and control core for unified network management and is suitable for the M5800-X2 service chassis. The WPS transmits key management and control information via the master/slave serial ports, in-band channels, and service boards to configure, manage, and control the entire product, while also implementing simple routing protocols. Models include the H901NPSC (maximum annual slot bandwidth 0Gbit/s) and the H901MPSA (40Gbit/s). The M580-X2 can be configured with one main control board (single main control board) or up to two main control boards (dual main control boards).

Note: The MPSC controller has four 10GE/GE uplink ports; the MPSA has two 10GE/GE uplink ports and two GE uplink ports.
