An optical splitter is a passive fiber optic component designed to divide the optical power coming from one fiber to two. PLC splitters allow to achieve high optical performance of the link with small size of the device itself due to planar technology. The fiber of the PLC 1:2 splitter is characterized by increased mechanical resistance.
