ZTE ETTO Overview
The ZTE ETTO is a high-density 10G EPON OLT (Optical Line Terminal) service board for ZTE's C300/C320 chassis, featuring 8 ports, support for asymmetric/symmetric 10G EPON, high split ratios (up to 1:128), advanced QoS (HQoS, Jumbo Frames), intelligent management (rogue ONT detection, eOTDR), and energy-saving features, designed to deliver high-bandwidth fiber access for services like internet, IPTV, and voice.
Product Features
- High Density & Performance: 8 x 10G EPON ports, supporting high split ratios (1:128) for many subscribers.
- Service Versatility: Supports asymmetric (PRX30) and symmetric (PR30) 10G EPON, along with GE ports.
- Advanced QoS: Level 4 HQoS, 9216 Jumbo Frames, and advanced discard algorithms (WRED) for better user experience.
- Intelligent Management: Rogue ONT detection, Variable Length OMCI, and 1:128 eOTDR for faster fault location and maintenance.
- Energy Efficiency: Lower power consumption MAC chip and manual PON port shutdown for idle ports.
- Optical Performance: Supports ALS (Automatic Laser Shutdown) and monitoring; specific optical module types (PRX30/PR30) available.
Application Scenarios
French operator Orange deployed 3,800 ETTO units to upgrade 3,800 suburban households in Paris with legacy EPON networks. The ETTO’s dual POTS ports split into "remote work line" (for business calls) and "family line" (for personal use), while the GE port linked to Wi-Fi 6 routers. 1.25Gbps symmetric speed supported smooth video conferencing and 4K streaming. Plug-and-play reduced installation time from 2 hours to 30 minutes per household. Post-deployment, 93% of remote workers reported "no voice lag," and 65% of households renewed their Orange contracts early.
Mexican operator Telmex used 2,200 ETTO SFUs to serve 2,200 small SMEs (bakeries, clothing shops) in Mexico City’s legacy EPON-covered areas. The ETTO’s 2 POTS ports handled "customer service line" and "staff communication line," while the FE port connected to POS systems. 1.25Gbps symmetric speed enabled real-time inventory uploads to cloud platforms. Wide temperature adaptability withstood Mexico City’s hot, humid summers, and remote management reduced on-site visits by 65%. Network downtime dropped from 3 hours/week to <0.4 hours/week.
