ZTE GFCH Overview
The GFCH is a 16-port 10G GPON (XGS-PON & GPON Combo) OLT subscriber card applicable to ZTE ZXA10 C600/C650/C680 OLTs, which provides 16-port XGS-PON & GPON access, supports a maximum split ratio of 1:128 for both XGS-PON and GPON, enables the access of XGS-PON, XG-PON and GPON ONUs, and features OLS, the optical module ALS function as well as hot swappable capability; meanwhile, the GFTL is a 16-port XGS-PON OLT interface board compatible with N1/N2a modules, which can also be applied to ZTE ZXA10 C600/C650/C680 OLTs and is characterized by a maximum optical split ratio of 1:256, along with support for optical power monitoring, the ALS function of optical modules and hot swapping to ensure efficient and reliable network operation and maintenance.
Product Features
- Dual-Mode Access: Supports both GPON (ITU-T G.984.x) and XGS-PON (ITU-T G.987.x, G.989.3) standards on the same board.
- High Port Density: Provides 16 XGS-PON/GPON combo ports for connecting many ONUs (Optical Network Units).
- High Bandwidth: Capable of 200G forwarding rate and supports asymmetric rate models.
- Versatile Optical Modules: Works with N1/B+ or N2/C+ optical modules for different service needs.
- Advanced Service Processing: Handles data processing, QoS (Quality of Service), and bandwidth management to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Standards Compliant: Adheres to ITU-T standards for PON, clock processing (G.8262, G.8264, G.781), and TR156 data processing.
Application Scenarios
1. Network Migration in France
A leading French telecom deployed ZTE GFCH 16-port combo boards on ZXA10 C650 OLTs for its GPON-to-XGS-PON migration in Lyon. The board’s dual-compatibility supported existing GPON ONUs and new XGS-PON devices simultaneously, avoiding ONU replacement costs. With a 1:128 split ratio for both technologies, it served 2,000+ households and SMEs, delivering 10Gbps symmetric speeds for 8K streaming and 2.5Gbps for legacy users. OLS, ALS, and hot-swappable design simplified O&M, aligning with France’s digital infrastructure upgrade goals.
2. Enterprise & Residential Convergence in Australia
An Australian operator adopted ZTE GFCH boards on ZXA10 C680 OLTs for a mixed-use development in Melbourne. The combo card enabled unified access for residential FTTH (GPON/XGS-PON) and enterprise VPNs, with 1:128 split ratios optimizing coverage. It supported seamless connectivity for XGS-PON/XG-PON/GPON ONUs, while OLS ensured line fault detection and ALS protected maintenance teams. Hot-swapping allowed non-disruptive upgrades, meeting high-reliability demands for both home users and businesses.
