ZTE GFTH Overview
GFTH is a 16-port XGS-PON OLT interface board compatible with N1/N2a optical modules, which can be installed in ZTE ZXA10 C600/C650/C680 OLTs and features a maximum optical split ratio of 1:256, along with support for optical power monitoring, the ALS function of optical modules and hot swapping for efficient and reliable network deployment and maintenance.
Product Features
- High Port Density: 16 ports per board for connecting many subscribers.
- Dual PON Technology: Supports both XGS-PON (10G) and GPON (Gigabit PON) for flexible, high-bandwidth access.
- High Optical Split Ratio: Up to 1:256, maximizing efficiency for large subscriber bases.
- Advanced Module Support: Uses N1/N2a optical modules for superior performance.
- Hot-Swappable Design: Allows for board replacement or upgrades without interrupting service.
- Optical Power Monitoring (OPM): Real-time tracking for efficient network management and troubleshooting.
Application Scenarios
1. High-End Hotel FTTR Deployment in Dubai
A luxury 5-star hotel in Dubai partnered with ZTE to deploy GFTH 16-port XGS-PON boards on ZXA10 C650 OLTs for its FTTR transformation. Equipped with N2a modules, the GFTH supported a 1:256 split ratio, delivering 2Gbps symmetric bandwidth to 300+ guest rooms. Optical power monitoring enabled real-time line troubleshooting, while the ALS function protected optical modules in the hotel’s closed equipment rooms. Hot-swappable design allowed maintenance during peak hours without service interruption, enhancing guest satisfaction with stable high-speed internet for 4K streaming and video conferencing.
2. Urban Broadband Upgrade in Germany
A major German telecom operator adopted ZTE GFTH boards in ZXA10 C600 OLTs to upgrade broadband services in Berlin’s urban areas. Leveraging XGS-PON’s 10G symmetric speed and 1:256 split ratio, each GFTH board served over 4,000 households and small businesses, meeting the growing demand for high-bandwidth applications like home offices and cloud gaming. N1 modules were used to adapt to the existing ODN infrastructure, minimizing deployment costs. ALS and hot-swappable features improved network reliability and simplified O&M, supporting Germany’s digital infrastructure development goals.
