Single-mode patchcord with a length of 1m, cable diameter of the order of3mm, terminated with LC/UPC-SC/APC connectors is used to connect optical network equipment like switches and converters. G.657A1 fiber has enhanced mechanical resistance. They are also widely used in FTTH networks for connecting OLT and ONU/ONT devices.
