Nokia FGUT-A Board: U.S. Urban 10G Broadband Upgrade Case
In 2025, a top U.S. telecom operator deployed the Nokia FGUT-A board in 7360 ISAM FX-4/FX-8 OLTs across New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Targeting 10G symmetric broadband and enterprise cloud needs, the project leveraged the FGUT-A’s 1.28Tb/s switching matrix for high-capacity data routing.
With 16 XGS-PON/GPON combo ports, the board delivered 9.953Gbit/s symmetric XGS-PON and legacy GPON services, supporting a 1:256 split ratio. Its SC interfaces and C+ modules (optional N2a/D SFP+) seamlessly integrated with existing infrastructure, connecting 500,000+ users. Post-deployment, network capacity doubled, latency dropped 35%, and the operator efficiently scaled services without hardware overhauls.
