Provides data packet processing and traffic management on 16 100GE optical ports, which can be split into a maximum of 16 40GE optical ports, 64 25GE optical ports, or 64 10GE optical ports.
Maximum port density
If all LPUs are CE-L16CQ-FD:
The CE12804/CE12804S chassis provides a maximum of 64 100GE ports.
The CE12808/CE12808S chassis provides a maximum of 128 100GE ports.
The CE12812 chassis provides a maximum of 182 100GE ports.
The CE12816 chassis provides a maximum of 256 100GE ports.
100GE port
Supports QSFP28 optical modules. A 100GE port can be used as a 40GE port or split into four 25GE or 10GE ports. Therefore, a CE-L16CQ-FD card can provide a maximum port density of 16x40GE, 64x25GE, or 64x10GE.
NOTE:
All the 100GE ports are independent, and each can be configured as one 40GE, four 25GE, or four 10GE ports.
Limitations and Descriptions
When the CE-L16CQ-FD card works with the CE-SFU16G and the backplane-side bandwidth is insufficient, data cannot be forwarded at the line rate.
When the CE-L16CQ-FD card works with the SFU matching the CE12800S and the backplane-side bandwidth is insufficient, data cannot be forwarded at the line rate.

CE-L16CQ-FD FAQ
Q1: Which Huawei switch models does the CE-L16CQ-FD support? How compatible is it?
A1: It mainly supports Huawei CE8800 series (CE8850, CE8860, CE8868) and CE7800 series (CE7850, CE7855) mid-to-high-end switches. It is fully compatible in both hardware and software, with 100% compatibility and no additional debugging required.
Q2: Are 16 100GE ports sufficient for the core needs of small to medium-sized data centers? Is multi-card expansion complicated?
A2: A single card can meet the basic core/aggregation needs of small to medium-sized data centers; multi-card expansion simply requires plugging the card into the switch slot without additional configuration, making operation simple and efficient.
Q3: What is the difference between the CE-L16CQ-FD and the 18-port CE-L18CQ-FD? How should I choose?
A3: The CE-L16CQ-FD's port count and capacity are better suited for small to medium-sized infrastructure scenarios, with lower costs; the CE-L18CQ-FD has higher capacity and is suitable for slightly larger-scale scenarios. For small to medium-sized organizations without extreme scale requirements, the CE-L16CQ-FD offers better cost performance.
