Functions and Features
Description
Basic function
The card provides data packet processing and traffic management on 18 100GE optical ports, which can be used as 18 40GE optical ports or split into 72 25GE or 72 10GE optical ports.
Maximum port density
If all LPUs are CE-L18CQ-FD cards: The CE12804/CE12804S chassis provides a maximum of 72 100GE ports. The CE12808/CE12808S chassis provides a maximum of 144 100GE ports. The CE12816 chassis provides a maximum of 288 100GE ports.
100GE port
100GE ports support QSFP28 and QSFP+ optical modules. A 100GE port can be used as a 40GE port or split into four 25GE or 10GE ports. That is, a card can provide a maximum port density of 18 x 40GE, 72 x 25GE, or 72 x 10GE. All the 18 100GE ports are independent, and each can be configured as one 40GE port, four 25GE ports, or four 10GE ports.

CE-L18CQ-FD FAQ
Q1: Which Huawei switch models does the CE-L18CQ-FD support? How compatible is it?
A1: It mainly supports mid-to-high-end Huawei switches such as the CE8800 series (CE8850, CE8860, CE8868) and CE7800 series (CE7850, CE7855). It is fully compatible in both hardware and software, with 100% compatibility and no additional debugging required.
Q2: Are 18 100GE ports sufficient for small to medium-sized high-density data centers? Is multi-card expansion complicated?
A2: A single card can meet the basic core/aggregation requirements of small to medium-sized high-density data centers; multi-card expansion simply requires plugging the card into the switch slot without additional configuration, making operation simple and efficient.
Q3: What are the differences between the CE-L18CQ-FD and the high-end 36-port CE-L36CQ-FD? How should one choose for small to medium-sized scenarios?
A3: The CE-L18CQ-FD is designed for small to medium-sized facilities, offering a more balanced number of ports and capacity at a lower cost. For small to medium-sized high-density data centers without extreme size requirements, the CE-L18CQ-FD offers better value for money.
