NOTE:
Ports 4, 5, 10, 11, 16, and 17 cannot be split. That is, ports 4, 5, 10, 11, 16, and 17 support only 400GE, 100GE, or 40GE.
Functions and Features of the LSH7D18DX2E0
Functions and Features
Description
Basic function
Provides data packet processing and traffic management on 18 x 400GE optical ports, which can be used as 18 x 100GE or 18 x 40GE optical ports, or split into up to 54 x 100GE optical ports.
Maximum port density
If all LPUs are these cards:
The S16700-4 chassis provides a maximum of 72 400GE ports.
The S16700-8 chassis provides a maximum of 144 400GE ports.
400GE port
Supports QSFP-DD, QSFP28, and QSFP+ optical modules. The 18 optical ports are independent, and each 400GE port can be used as a 100GE or 40GE port through auto-sensing. The 400GE ports 0 to 3, 6 to 9, and 12 to 15 can be split into 4 x 100GE ports. Other ports cannot be split.
Hot swapping
Supported
MACsec
Ports 0 to 3, 6 to 9, and 12 to 15 support MACsec. Other ports do not support MACsec.
Restrictions and remarks
Every six ports (ports 0 to 5, 6 to 11, and 12 to 17) form a group, to which the following limitations apply:
Only the first four ports in each group (ports 0 to 3, 6 to 9, and 12 to 15) support up to 1.6 Tbit/s forwarding. If the service bandwidth does not reach 1.6 Tbit/s, all the six ports in each group can be used.
When SFUs work in 3+1 mode, the maximum bandwidth of each group cannot exceed 1.2 Tbit/s (for example, 3 x 400 Gbit/s).
When SFUs work in 4+0 mode, the maximum bandwidth of each group cannot exceed 1.6 Tbit/s (for example, 4 x 400 Gbit/s).

LSH7D18DX2E0 FAQ
Q1: Which optical modules are supported? Can existing 1G SFP optical modules be used?
A1: Supports Huawei SFP+/SFP series optical modules. SFP+ modules (SR/LR) are used for 10G, and SFP modules are used for 1G. Existing 1G optical modules can be directly reused, reducing upgrade costs.
Q2: What is the maximum number of terminals supported?
A2: A single port can stably connect 30-40 terminals, and a total of 500-700 terminals can be supported across 18 ports, meeting the needs of medium to large-scale aggregation scenarios.
Q3: What are the differences between this and other Huawei 10GE boards (such as ET1D2VS08000)?
A3: Focused on high-density aggregation, with more ports (18 ports vs. 8 ports), it offers better cost-effectiveness and is suitable for aggregation layer scenarios requiring large-scale 10G access.
