The CE-L48XS-FD provides data packet processing and traffic management on 48 10GE optical ports.
Maximum port density
If all LPUs are CE-L48XS-FD cards:
The CE12804/CE12804S chassis provides a maximum of 192 10GE optical ports.
The CE12808/CE12808S chassis provides a maximum of 384 10GEoptical ports.
The CE12812 chassis provides a maximum of 576 10GE optical ports.
The CE12816 chassis provides a maximum of 768 10GEGE optical ports.
High 10GE/GE port density (48x10GE/GE)
When the 10GE ports work in 10GE mode, they support SFP+ 10GE optical modules and can work with 10GE Twinax high-speed cables or AOC cables.
When optical ports 24 to 35 on the CE-L48XS-FD work at the rate of 1 Gbit/s, copper modules on the ports can only work at the rate of 1000 Mbit/s, while GE optical modules on the ports work in the non-auto-negotiation mode by default, and cannot be configured to work in auto-negotiation mode.
Limitations and Descriptions
The CE-L48XS-FD provides insufficient external buffer performance. As a result, packet loss may occur during data forwarding upon heavy traffic. To obtain higher external buffer performance, you are advised to use other types of cards.

CE-L48XS-FD FAQ
Q1: Which Huawei switch models does the CE-L48XS-FD support? How compatible is it?
A1: It mainly adapts to Huawei CE8800, CE7800, and CE6800 series mid-to-high-end switches. It is fully compatible in both hardware and software, with 100% compatibility, requiring no additional debugging.
Q2: Will the 48 high-density ports affect heat dissipation and signal stability? Is there any performance loss due to multi-rate compatibility?
A2: It adopts an optimized heat dissipation structure and shielding design. The high-density layout does not affect the stable operation of the device; multi-rate adaptive operation is achieved at the hardware level, with no performance loss, and can seamlessly switch between 25G/10G modes.
Q3: What are the differences between the CE-L48XS-FD and its counterparts FD1 (ultra-high density) and FDA (standard high density)? How should I choose?
A3: The core performance of all three is the same. FD1 focuses on ultra-high density (optimal space), FDA focuses on standard high density (cost-balanced), and FD focuses on balanced high density (balancing space and practicality). For standard small to medium-sized data centers, choose FD; for extremely limited space, choose FD1; and for cost-sensitive applications, choose FDA.
