1. What are the core differences between Huawei MA5680T, MA5683T, and MA5608T?
All three are Huawei OLT products, with core differences in "capacity and applicable scenarios":
  • MA5680T: High-density flagship model, supporting up to 8K ONT access per chassis, focusing on operators' large-scale urban optical networks and multi-service bearing scenarios;
  • MA5683T: Medium-capacity model, supporting 2K-4K ONT access per chassis, adapting to medium-scale networking such as prefecture-level cities and counties;

4. Why does the MA5680T support 1588v2 clock synchronization? What scenarios is it mainly used for?

1588v2 is a "high-precision network time synchronization protocol", whose core function is to keep the time of all devices in the access network (such as base stations and industrial controllers) consistent, mainly used in:
  • 5G/4G base station transmission: Base station signal handover and user call connection require high-precision time synchronization; dropped calls and signal interruption will occur.

5. Does the device support access to ONTs (optical modems) of other brands?
