S6730-H Series Switches Overview

Q1: How to switch between "optical port + electrical port multiplexing" on the 6 100GE Combo ports? Is manual configuration required?
 
A1: No manual switching is needed! The Combo ports automatically identify whether an optical module or an electrical cable is inserted, prioritizing the optical port by default. If no optical module is available, it automatically switches to electrical port mode. Plug and play, improving maintenance efficiency by 70%.
 
Q2: Can 24 25GE ports simultaneously connect to devices with four speeds: 25G, 10GE, GE, and FE? Will bandwidth be affected?
 
A2: Simultaneous access is supported! Ports independently adapt to their speeds, without interference. The 7.2Tbps switching capacity fully meets full-load operation, with no bandwidth bottlenecks, and maximum compatibility for mixed-speed scenarios.
 
Q3: What are the core differences between this and the Huawei S6730-S24X6Q (24×25GE + 6×100GE pure optical ports)? How to choose?

  • By default, the license is not loaded on a switch.
  • In V200R013C02, QSFP28 ports are 100GE ports.
  • In V200R019C00 and later versions, QSFP28 ports are 40GE ports. To use the 100GE rate, you need to purchase and activate a license.
  • After a switch is upgraded from V200R013C02 to V200R019C00 or a later version, QSFP28 ports are still 100GE ports. You can load a license to change the port rate.
  • To configure QSFP28 ports as 100GE ports, load and activate this license, run the assign port-speed 100GE [ slot slot-id | all ] or assign port-type 100GE [ slot slot-id | all ] command, and restart the switch.

    In versions earlier than V200R020C00, the command format is assign port-speed 100GE [ slot slot-id | all ].

    In V200R020C00 and later versions, the command format is assign port-type 100GE [ slot slot-id | all ].

For the S6730-H24X6C (part number: 02353GFC/02353GFC-001/02353GFC-003/02353GFC-004), the license has been activated and QSFP28 ports on the switch work as 100GE ports.
